1) Father John, relative of the groom, happened to be a very attractive, fun loving priest. At the reception, he had his own receiving line of ladies waiting to chat and dance with him -- and man, could he move! In this picture, Rae is one happy lady. Throughout the weekend, her mantra: "I heart Father John." It should also be noted that an older female guest at the wedding spoke to my father about the good Father: "what a waste" was her comment. hehe...
2) For the first time in my little life I felt like the minority...I was the only protestant in an all-Catholic wedding party. Per the advice of my fellow bridesmaids, during the service, I decided to pass on the communion so as not to "drink judgment" on myself and receive a blessing. So, I crossed my little arms across my chest and the priest (Father J) after a moment of shock, gave me a blessing. The funny part was dave got the blessing also - but NO ONE else did in the whole church - hmmmm....
So, I'm already feeling a little awkward when we all stand to say the Lord' Prayer. We say: "and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." I say: "for thine is the..." The REST of the congregation says: NOTHING! Kate, the bridesmaid to my left, nudges me to shut up as I totally missed that some Catholics don't say that part and whispers: "You've totally got the scarlet P on your chest!" Well, I got the giggles, she got the giggles, and I know poor mar was looking at us from the altar shaking her head!
Those are just a few of the riveting details - thanks for reading...
