Lay down that boogie and play that funky music till you die...

A few weeks back we spent time with our friends Katie and Grant and their son Thomas in the mountains. While there, we discovered Thomas' uncanny preference for rap - until Blogger can help me upload the video, check out the pic pre-rapping...he really is too precious!

The Cup

Dave and "The Pewter Tankard of Glory" from his practice round win
Nice form from Bill in the rough
Jon celebrates his stunning victory, vowing to never let
the cup out of his sight...

While I was playing in TX, Dave and his brothers were holding the third annual Comptroller's Cup golf tournament in the mountains. We were sure this was the year the Charlotte Rietz's would house the winning trophy...here's how it went down:

Friday: Brothers arrive, drive, and bond.
Saturday: Lazy morning, practice round at the course - Dave wins by 9 strokes. (Yea!)
Sunday: "The Cup" - Jon takes The Cup while Bill and Dave battle it out for 2nd (you'll have to
ask around for the official results) followed by Jon's victory dinner choice: a tasting menu
at the Inn at Biltmore Village.
Monday: Lots more bonding and back to reality...

I will post pics soon!

Three Cheers for a Long Weekend

I love a long weekend. This last one I headed down to TX to be with the fam while Dave stayed in NC to rendevous with the Brothers Rietz and play some golf. I flew in to Dallas and then we decided to road trip to Austin to see my cousin Whitney's baby's cristening. Much fun was definitely had by all - I even caught a glimpse of Mrs. Carolyn Lutes at a very fun place we went for a beverage -- Hotel San something...

Needless to say - I am craving another long weekend already and there's not a one in sight. Getting back into working is kicking my tail... enjoy the pics

(Yes, I know I have the summers off, but I hang with 5th graders all day - they wear you out!)
