Thanksgiving 2010

We spent Thanksgiving in Asheville with Carolyn, Chuck, and Grandma this year. Highlights were a lovely Thanksgiving dinner at the Grove Park Inn, viewing the incredible gingerbread houses on display, meeting Aspen the puppy, and relaxing like nobody's business. I must say, however, that eating a full Thanksgiving meal while carrying a 5 mos. old baby proved trickier than I would have thought. I think Charlie was loving the extra sugar, however.

Happy birthday celebrations with Chuck on Friday were equally lovely. Check out our pictures by clicking the album below...

Pet Peeve

One of my pet peeves is the misuse of homophones - you know, words that sound alike but are spelled differently and have different meanings. On our way home from Harry Potter 7 last night, we spotted this egregious error in the parking deck. I'm debating on whether to share it with my students as a cautionary tale. Hehe.

Gay Bingo

Two weeks back, we attended the "final" Glee-themed Gay Bingo. In it's 10th year, the event has raised tons of money for RAIN and is a night of intentional, over-the-top hysterics and bingo fun. Shelita, the "mistress" of ceremonies and the dance numbers were amazing. Given my belly, I couldn't dress up (my Glee shirt barely fit!), but Dave worked his high school look in the letter jacket. So cute. We also swiped the megaphone from school to channel Sue Sylvester. Liz had way too much fun with it, but kept us laughing.

Thanks to Mara for organizing our table and for Jessica and Mara for the killer table decor. You can see the photos by visiting the link to my mobileme gallery.

More Ellen...

Oh, how I wish I had more. Time with the sister was just what I needed - what we both needed. We shopped for maternity leggings (how glamorous), worked on the nursery, played some games, and enjoyed each other.

We didn't make time for great pictures, but here are a few...

ellen playing with the faux belly at the maternity shop

ellen wanted a picture with my belly. I had to position my hand to my face in order to hide the huge chest situation. can you say awkward?
