First Day Back

School started last Wednesday and, while it was a fast and furious first few days back, I am really liking life in middle school.

Quote of the week? As I was assuring the students that I am well aware that this is not 5th grade and that this adventure is a new start for all of us, one of the boys raised his hand and asked, "Since you are moving from 5th grade to middle school, is that why your eyes look so big?"

Sweet.

Ellen's Cowboy Dreams July 2010

At the end of July, Ellen and I journeyed back to Dallas for a quick weekend visit with Rob and the rents. It was a super fun weekend - complete with a a Pilates MegaReformer family class, a trip to the Container Store (sigh. I love that place.) and a tour of the new Cowboys stadium.

I must say, I don't even like pro football, and I found this place to be amazing. Highlights included the club-level ammenitites, Jerry's perch, locker rooms, Barry our awesome tour guide (who loved dad and took us behind the scenes!) and getting to walk on the field. That screen is pretty ridiculous as well.

Check out the Picasa album below to see Ellen the super fan's journey around the stadium.

I left the weekend quite grateful for a visit that made my heart feel full.

Henry Tyson McCollum

Henry was born on July 12th and joined Mommy and Daddy Brooke and Lee on July 13th. I had the honor of meeting him in Dallas a few weeks back and he could not be more precious. I am in awe of the miracle of this story and of the love that fills the McCollum house already. Welcome to the world, sweet Henry.

I-V-Y!

I am super behind in posting - the start of school and a new job is weighing heavy at the minute - but I wanted to add the latest video of our Ivy. In this snippet, she is spelling her name. I mean, come on...she's so cute.

Serenity Now

Two weeks ago, Dave and I stole away for three nights and savored delicious down time on Kiawah Island. Celebrating Dave's 33rd and our 8th wedding anniversary, we ate lazy, long dinners, read three whole books, and slept in late. It was our first true vacation as "just us" in a while and I am so grateful for the beautiful time with my beautiful husband.

I had to include this Seinfeld montage b/c of my title...
