VaCa

Well, I'm finally on my first vacation for the summer - yee haw! Right now, I am in Dallas town visiting the fam and prepping for Andrea's wedding weekend...friends arrive TH and the husband arrives Fri., so I'm enjoying my time with me here. Today I took Dad to work (leaving me with the BMer...hehe..., took Robert to camp, and then went on a long walk, enjoying a rare cool morning. Then I had the privilege of accompanying my dad to the Salemanship Club school for a lunheon on their family counseling services. We were able to hear about their center and meet a family who has benefitted from their care. It was pretty moving - I told Dad it made me want to go get a masters in counseling or psychology! I then went to B's to say hello and visit and then grabbed Robert, shot by the Home Depot, and went to pick up Dad from the office. We enjoyed a dinner at Matito's with all the Mav's fans to finish the day - whew!

After the week here, I head back to Charlotte to get ready for trip #2 - LA, here we come! Dave and I are flying out to LA to see ellen, bill, liz, and of course, annabelle! I am so excited to meet my little neice and even more excited about the trip. Dave and I are taking a few days to do our own trip to Catalina Island while we are there - I am posting a few pics so you can check it out - I think you'll see why I'm so excited - it looks beautiful! :)

I will be posting pics from the wedding weekend as they become available - ta ta for now...

Sweet P

I wanted to add another cute baby to my blog -- this is my cousin Anne's precious Penelope Purl. I think this picture is hilarious, though it doesn't do justice to her cuteness - just ask Laura and Judy who cyber-stalk her through their blog...hehe.

It is finish-eth!

Macbeth's Weird Sisters
Fifth Grade Shakespearean Actors "Quoting Shakespeare"
Mrs. R. and Walker
King Henry V

Proud Mamas...

The Balcony Scene: Romeo and Juliet Bottom the Weaver, Demetrius, Romeo 2, and the Friar

Well, our Shakespeare performance went off without a hitch and the children were fabulous! I never cease to be amazing at their passion and abilities. One funny moment was when Juliet tried to get Romeo's dagger to kill herself and it got stuck on his belt! Juliet made a hilariously frustrated face and then did the deed...hehe.

Deck time: Laura's bling a ling and peach margaritas!

Memorial Day Fun

This year's trip was one of the best yet...the weather was beautiful and the company incomparable. I arrived Friday and was grabbed by Lar and Laurie...in typical random fashion, Laurie took us to her friend's house to jump on the trampoline. Yep, you guessed it, I could barely walk for 3 days after that little escapade, but I had a fabulous time jumping away! Everyone else arrived in the evening and we set out for Keystone the next morning, Starbucks in hand. The above is all of us on our way up from Denver to Keystone at the Continental Divide in Loveland Pass - brrr rabbit!

Being fully confident in our "old ladiness," we spent the rest of the weekend playing games, reading, and enjoying one another. Other highlights include: Andrea and Marge being showered, long mountain walks, deck time, being treated to a fabulous meal courtesy of emily and schman, and attempting to salavage the umbrella destroyed by the CO wind. I cannot express the gratitude I have for these ladies and their friendship. They are truly treasures...

Thanks to emily and the Lewis familly for their generosity of spirit! What a perfect weekend!
