After playing 4-Square at recess today and being "trash" (the lowest square, for those who don't recall the beloved game well) for several rounds, one of my students said to me:
"Mrs. Rietz, you shouldn't feel discouraged about not playing well in 4-square. You haven't played in such a long time and I've been playing since Kindergarten. You just need some practice."
Eventually I did make it the "King" spot and this same student says to me: "See, I told you you could do it. But of course, now that I'm Queen and you're King, I'll have to take you down."
Hmmmmmmm.....
