Check it out: having walked our trash down to the curb this evening, i was gazing at the tall pine trees in our back yard and noticed a large dark ball. I suspected i had spotted a raptor so I ran inside, grabbed the binoculars, and went a-spying. Carolyn and Chuck pulled into our drive way just as I was focusing on a gorgeous and huge Red Tailed Hawk! I think it was a female - i'm hoping the large nest in our backyard may belong to her. Maybe we'll have our own flock soon...
